Between January and March 2005 I worked as a weather forecaster for the British Antarctic Survey at Rothera on the Antarctic Peninsula. Below you can read my diary of what I got up to 'down south'. Alternatively you can go to Amazon and buy diaries written by real polar explorers which will give you a much better insight into how harsh Antarctica can be! With this in mind I recommend The Worst Journey in the World by Apsley Cherry Garrard, The Coldest March by Susan Solomon and Captain Scott by Ranulph Fiennes.
